Time online isn’t a walk in the virtual park for everyone.
Some things need talking about:
Cookies
Some social media platforms use cookies. Cookies are a helpful
tiny file that a website (for example, an online shopping site) puts onto your
device’s web browser and takes back at the end of doing business with you. They
are used to make the online process smoother. Unfortunately, some malicious
files disguise themselves as cookies and can cause chaos to your computer. Also
things like tracking cookies can tell a social media platform how many times
you have visited their site. Some people might not enjoy these privacy and
security risks found on interactive webpages like those of social media. P.S. – PLEASE READ THIS PRINT: This blog page

Privacy
If you like a nice quiet private life, I recommend paring
back your social media participation a tad! You might prefer to listen and look
rather than comment and post. One of the risks of social media – obviously - is
that we can trumpet a lot about ourselves before we know-it, and realistically
there is a permanent record kept of everything we say and do online. Our
profile can leave a mark about us. For some it may mean their employment or
prospective job offers may be at risk, ownership of identity may be at risk.
Friends may decide they’ve learned more about you than they really want to
know!
Is social media as fun as a night out with your friends?
Some people have found social media a battle-ground. Social
media can be a place where views are freely aired, sometimes without carrying a
sense of how the other person might feel. Just like in-person - bullying can be
one risk of engaging on social media.
